Hanover is in Pennsylvania. I went there because my 10th birthday present was going to a Phillies game. I stayed there for 4 days.
July 10th 2009 – I went to Philadelphia to Pat’s brother’s house. First we went to Wa Wa. Next we went to the Philadelphia Zoo. We saw lots of cool animals. My favorite was the penguins. They’re hilarious. When we got back to the house we played a basketball game called 21. Pat won 21. Then we ate pizza for dinner. We watched Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. After that we played Guitar Hero. Later we went swimming. We played on the blow up fish.
July 11th 2009 – we got up and played whiffle ball with Pat, Ethan, Liam and me. Then we left at 10:30 am to go to the Phillies game against the Pirates. When we got there I went to the small Phillies gift shop. I didn’t find anything there, so I kept looking. Then Pat took me to the bull pen. The Pirates were practicing in it. Pat took me somewhere the we saw Greg Luzinski. We got his autograph and picture with him. The Phillies were after the Pirates, but we couldn’t see them. The Phillies were on the field stretching. Next that you know it Tyler Walker came to the side and signed my baseball. It was pretty crowded. Then we started to eat peanuts. We went to the two story store. First we went up to the kids section I didn’t find anything there. When we went back to the first floor we got Gary Matthews’s autograph. So, after that we looked at the adult Phillies hats like the ones that they were wearing. Next we asked if they had these in kid size. The story worker went to check if there was any left. Then he gave me the perfect sized one. Next we saw Cole Hamels at the side. He was signing stuff. Molly and I got mine and Pat’s baseballs to see if he would sign it. We got there too late to have him sign our baseballs. So while we were waiting for the game to start. We got some drinks. Later we found standing spots. The game started, the Pirates were up first. Their turn was quick. Then it was the Phillies turn. They scored three home runs already. In the second inning we ate at Harry the K’s. I ate my first Philly cheese steak. In the top of the ninth the score was 2-5. The Phillies won the game. We went home and saw Pat where he worked and how you make a newspaper. Then we watched some of Harry Potter and went to bed.
July 12th 2009 – When I first woke up we were getting ready to go to the UTZ factory tour. We saw how they made potato chips. At the end of the tour, we got free bags of chips. Next we went to Hannah Penn Middle School to see where Molly’s gonna work. I read Harry Potter while she was figuring out her schedule. When we went home, we went to the YMCA. We played basketball, went swimming, and then used a sauna. Then we saw Pat there and played more basketball. After that we went to the batting cages. We hit baseballs and softballs. Then we came home and watched the Home Run Derby.
July 14th 2009 – Today Molly’s taking me home back to Waverly. Then we went shopping. My favorite thing while I was visiting Molly and Pat was EVERYTHING!
